This Week's Devotional
November 16 Try, Try Again

“Even youths will become exhausted, and young men will give up. But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:30-31

In The Garden
At the End of Day

“A garden is a lovely thing
That must be spaded in the spring
Weeded when the summer’s searing
Mulched in Fall when Winter’s nearing.
Of all the seasons do you wonder
I like it best when it’s snowed under?”

Gardener’s Almanac

November 9, 2008

The Overcomer
It is no small thing, Father,
to awaken with the dawn
with out fear or dread.

It is no small thing, Lord
to awaken with the dawn,
my heart singing with the birds,
giving you thanks for
another day of life.

It is no small thing to say with faith
“I know my Redeemer lives!”
“I know he is for me, not against me!”
It is no small thing to be able to say
“I am a friend of God”.

It is no small thing, Father.
So I give you
great thanks,
great praise,
and offer not a little,
but all of me today.

I am your servant,
I am listening,
and I am ready to
be your hands
and feet.
Amen.
